The Esplanade Association would like to congratulate Leo Roy on being appointed as the new Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

As a park friends group for the Charles River Esplanade, the Esplanade Association works in partnership with the DCR to care for and improve the Charles River Esplanade. Through this public/private partnership they have accomplished much in the park including the recent Restoration of the Hatch Shell Oval Lawn.

“We would like to extend our congratulations to Leo Roy, and we are looking forward to working with him in the coming year,” said Tani Marinovich, executive director of the Esplanade Association

In 2016, the Esplanade Association has plans to work with the DCR on several park initiatives including a plan to restore the park’s historic Lotta Fountain.

The Esplanade Association looks forward to continuing to work with the DCR and Commissioner Roy on the shared goal of preserving and enhancing the Esplanade.
