INCIDENTS

Custodial Kidnapping

08/30/15 – At approximately 1:07 p.m., police responded to a radio call for a custodial kidnapping at the Copley Mall, located at 100 Huntington Ave.

Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the caller, who said she had court-appointed custody of her granddaughter, and that per the court order, the girl’s mother was allowed to visit with her daughter unsupervised at the mall on Saturdays and Sundays between noon and 4 p.m.

The caller said the girl had left mall with her mother in a brown Infiniti with Massachusetts license plates. After police broadcast the vehicle information, officers located the motor vehicle and gave a nearby address as a possible location of the woman and her daughter.

Police responded to the address for an evaluation of the girl, who was returned to her grandmother’s custody.

Complaints are being sought against the girl’s mother in court.

Assault Simple – Battery; Larceny – Theft from Building; Trespassing

08/22/15 – Officers responded to 500 Boylston St. at around 1:25 p.m. for a report of a building security officer holding a suspected thief.

On arrival, police spoke with the security officer, who stated that he observed the suspect stealing packages from the building’s security officer and detained him. Property recovered from the suspect included an August Steiner watch, valued at $345, and a Hewlett Packard laptop, with an unknown value.

As the suspect led from the building by police, he lunged at one of the officers.
