Larceny, Other, $200 & Over

08/07/14 – A victim walked into police headquarters to report that she had left her black wallet on a condiment table at Starbucks at 350 Newbury St. at around 4:45 p.m. before leaving the store.

A short while later, the victim received several bank alerts about possible fraudulent transactions on her cell phone and realized that she had left her wallet behind. The victim then realized $200 had been charged to her debit card at the Chinatown MBTA station, and there was a pending charge on her Capital One card.

The victim subsequently cancelled her credit cards.

Robbery – Other Weapon – Business

08/10/14 – At approximately 1 p.m., an Area D-4 officer responded to a radio call for a larceny in progress at Sunglass Hut at 86 Newbury St.

On arrival, the officer spoke to an employee who said a male suspect removed merchandise from the store before fleeing on Newbury Street towards Arlington Street. The employee told police that he had attempted to close the front as the suspect stole the items, at which time the suspect said he had a syringe and would stab the employee.

The employee said the store has surveillance cameras, and will save footage of the incident to assist police in the investigation.

A description of the suspect was broadcast over police radio, but a search of the area for him was to no avail.

Robbery – Other Weapon – Business

08/10/14 – Police responded to the Tufts Medical Center emergency room to take a statement from a woman who was assaulted earlier that day in the Back Bay.

On arrival, police spoke with the victim who said she was on Boylston Street near the Copley Branch of the Boston Public Library at around 2 p.m., when a male suspect approached her from behind and punched her in the neck before running off with her purse. Her handbag contained $27 cash, jewelry and credit cards.

The victim, who was in a neck brace in the emergency room, told police that she didn’t get a good luck at suspect because she only saw him from behind.

At the time of treatment, the victim told police she didn’t know specifically which credit cards of hers were taken during the robbery.
