This year’s Park Street School (PSS) | Park Street Kids (PSK) Spring Fundraiser, with the theme “No Ceilings, No Walls,” was a resounding success, raising more than $300,000 for the school’s annual fund.

The event was held at the Boston Park Plaza on Friday, April 4. As guests entered the hotel mezzanine, they were greeted with images and quotes reflecting that at PSS and PSK, “the possibilities are endless of your child growing in Confidence, developing Character, and becoming a Lifelong Learner.”

The evening opened with a first-ever Amuse-bouche for first- and second-year families, also offering them the first opportunity to view silent auction items. This was also the first year PSS/PSK used mobile bidding, which allowed guests to circulate freely around the room.

The evening’s program included board of trustees Chairman Clayton Webb and Head of Schools Tracy Bradley, as well as celebrity auctioneer Dan Flynn, always a crowd favorite. The evening featured special guest Class of 2009 Graduate Alumna Heather Forbes (a current Boston Latin School student), who described how Park Street School served as a strong foundation for her academic and personal accomplishments.

Also featured were PSS and PSK parents Michelle and Charles Day, who described the road to enrolling their three children at the school, and who movingly shared about their children’s growth at the school, as well as the strong bonds of community they have experienced as parents.

A portion of the evening’s donations were earmarked toward an additional goal this year: providing an iPad for every classroom, from Toddler through Grade 6. These new iPads will enable every teacher to document progress in the classroom more effectively and collaborate more broadly between classrooms and grades.
