On Nov. 8, The Esplanade Association, in partnership with Marathon Daffodils and with the help of more than 90 volunteers from Massachusetts Service Alliance, planted 4,000 daffodils in the park along the shoreline and the planting bed by the Arthur Fiedler Footbridge.

The Esplanade Association gave special thanks to Diane Valle, volunteer and organizer for Marathon Daffodils, for generously donating 2,000 bulbs for this planting.

Marathon Daffodils is a collaboration of non-profit organizations, gardeners, cities and towns, organizations, businesses and citizens interested in preserving the spirit of the Boston Marathon and Boston Strong while embracing the tradition of celebrating the arrival of spring in the city.
