The Learning Project’s Mayfest Comes to Copley Square

May 29, 2013

The Learning Project Elementary School held its annual Mayfest on Copley Square on Thursday, May 16.

The Learning Project, located on Marlborough Street in the Back Bay, serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade who come from every neighborhood in Boston.

The entire school presented a concert on the steps of Trinity Church. In addition to the concert, the kindergarteners sang and danced to “Goin’ to Boston,” the younger grades did their traditional bean setting dance and the older students danced around the Maypole.

Mayfest has been performed by Learning Project students in Copley Square annually since 1992.  The performance is a gift to the neighborhood and city that provide the students with so many important resources and experiences.
