The Boston Ward 5 Republican Committee elected five members to its executive board and added nine new regular members.

Joining Brad Marston, chairman; Stephen Jeffries, treasurer; and Catherine-Mary Donovan, secretary, are Connie Irwin and John Herbert Sullivan as vice chairs. The addition of the nine new members brings the committee up to its full complement of 25 regular members.

“This is a very exciting time for Boston Republicans” Marston said in a statement. “We’ve gone from 12 members a little over a year ago to 25 now.”

Marston, who is also treasurer of the Boston Republican City Committee, noted that the BRCC has 17 or 18 Ward Committees organized across Boston, up from six at the end of 2010.

“I think it speaks to the level of interest in doing everything we can to help Senator Brown get re-elected and having two great candidates, Matt Temperley and Joe Selvaggi running for Congress in the new 8th Congressional District” Marston said. “Between the Ward 5 and City Committee meetings, I’ve been to two standing-room-only events in less than a week. That kind of energy and involvement is great to see. We are working hard to make certain we have the financial and human resources we need to have an impact on this next election and beyond.” The Ward 5 Committee has previously met quarterly, but will be meeting monthly through November. The committee is seeking additional associate members; those interested can contact Mr. Marston at brad@bradmarston.com.
