LAST WEEK’S ANSWER

The doorway in last week’s clue is on 206 Beacon Street, built circa 1862. This was a single family home until the late 1950s. In the early 1960’s, it became a lodging house for 35 female college students, according to the website www.bosarchitecture.com. In 1961, the building was converted to a dormitory. It was purchased by Emerson College and remained a dormitory until 1976 when it was remodeled into five apartments and later sold as condominiums.
