10/11/11 – At about 2 a.m., an Area D-4 officer responded to a radio call for a larceny in progress at Emmanuel Church, located at 15 Newbury St.

On arrival, the officer spoke with a witness, who said upon entering the kitchen area, he observed the suspect upturn the victim’s bag and begin rummaging through the contents. When the witness confronted the suspect, the suspect fled the church in an unknown direction. The victim said she was unsure if anything was missing from her bag.

The officer broadcast a description of the suspect and searched the area for him to no avail.

Disturbing the Peace

10/14/11 – At approximately 2 a.m., Area D-4 officers responded to a radio call for a fight in progress in the area of Whiskey’s bar at 866 Boylston St.

On arrival, bar staff directed officers to a group of men yelling and wresting in front of 829 Boylston St. A passerby pointed to a suspect and stated that he was the one causing all the trouble. One of the officers observed the suspect begin to push several people, including two females.

The officer attempted to intervene, but the suspect began pulling away. When the officer attempted to gain control of the suspect, the suspect turned to confront him. The officer, fearing for his safety, took the suspect to the ground and was able to restrain the suspect until the other officer could assist him, at which time they handcuffed the suspect.

The suspect was transported to Area D-4 headquarters for booking and charged with disturbing the peace. At police headquarters, the suspect, who appeared to be heavily intoxicated, refused to be booked.

Later, police issued a licensed premise violation to Whiskey’s.
