Robbery – Knife – Street

08/19/11 – At about 3:58 p.m., Area D-4 officers responded to a radio call to assist a detail officer on a call for a person with a knife.

Upon arrival, officers observed the detail officer speaking with the two victims and the suspect, who was being detained by a second detail officer. One of the detail officers stated that the two victims were outside of 745 Boylston St. when the suspect approached them.

The suspect then reportedly asked the victims for a cigarette before pulling a knife on them. Upon seeing the knife, the victims said they feared for their safety and thought they were being robbed. One of the victims gave the suspect a cigarette before the suspect put the knife back in his pocket and walked away.

The suspect was placed under arrest for armed robbery and assault by means of a dangerous weapon. The knife used in the incident was recovered from the suspect and turned in as evidence. The suspect was then transported to District Four headquarters for booking.

Investigate Person

08/19/11 – At approximately 11:55 p.m., an Area D-4 officer responded to a radio call for a 15-year-old male vomiting in the Berklee College of Music dorms at 270 Commonwealth Ave.

Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the caller, a summer resident director who reported that one of the summer program participants returned to the dorms at about 11:30 p.m. and appeared to be intoxicated. The officer observed that the individual, who smelled of alcohol, was sitting on the floor and vomiting into a wastebasket. The director also said the individual might have fallen and hit his head.

EMTs responded to the scene, evaluated the individual and transported him to Tufts New England Medical Center in Ambulance 15. The director told police he had contacted the individual’s mother, who was en route to the hospital from Sandwich, Mass.
