Warrant Arrest
07/13/11 – At about 8:46 a.m., officers responded to a radio call for a fight at 581 Boylston St.
Upon arrival, police met one of the suspects. The suspect stated that he just had a verbal argument with another male, who left the area before officers arrived.
After investigation, police learned that the suspect had a straight warrant out of Boston Municipal Court for possession to distribute a Class B substance and possession of a Class B substance.
The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to District 4 headquarters, where he was booked in the usual manner.
The Warrant Unit was also notified of the suspect’s arrest.
Assault and Battery
07/14/11 – At about 3:16 p.m., an Area D-4 officer responded to a radio call to assist an EMS unit at Massachusetts Avenue and Newbury Street.
As the officer was en route, the operations dispatcher notified him that Boston EMS had completed the transport of the suspect to Boston Medical Center and wanted to file a police report for an incident that took place.
On arrival, the officer spoke to the EMS workers, who stated they had responded to a radio call for an unconscious person at Massachusetts Avenue and Newbury Street. The EMS workers arrived at the scene, evaluated the suspect and began transporting him to Boston Medical Center, at which time they said he became angry and belligerent. The victim stated the suspect pushed them with both hands. No injuries were reported.
The officer summonsed the suspect into Boston Municipal Court to answer to the charge of assault and battery on a public employee.
Motor Vehicle Accident – Involving Bicycle
07/14/11 – At about 9:50 p.m., an Area D-4 officer responded to an accident involving a bicycle and a motor vehicle.
On arrival, police spoke with the bicyclist, who said he was traveling on Massachusetts Avenue towards Cambridge when he was struck by a motor vehicle traveling inbound on Massachusetts Avenue and turning left on Commonwealth Avenue.
The bicyclist was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with foot abrasions and a minor head injury.
The officer also spoke to the motor-vehicle operator, who stated that the bicyclist pulled in front him and he was unable to avoid the collision.
