Assault with a Dangerous Weapon

02/01/11 – At about 6:40 p.m., officers responded to a radio call for a person with a knife at the rear of 175 Commonwealth Ave.

Prior to the officers’ arrival, Boston Police Operations notified them that the suspect had gone inside the residence and provided them with a description of the individual.

On arrival, officers met with building residents, who directed them to the rear of the building, where they observed two victims performing snow removal. One officer spoke with one of the victims while another officer talked to the suspect, who was sitting in a grey motor vehicle parked at the rear of 173 Commonwealth Ave.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the victim was removing snow from the rear of 175 Commonwealth Ave. while the suspect was removing snow from behind 173 Commonwealth Ave.  The suspect allegedly took snow from the rear of his building and threw it on the victims’ side, causing them to react.

When the victim asked the suspect to stop, he allegedly responded, “What are you going to about it?”

An argument between the parties ensued, and the suspect stated, “Go ahead and touch me, and see what happens.”

After the victims went back to shoveling, the suspect allegedly went inside his residence at 173 Commonwealth Ave. and retrieved two kitchen knives before returning outside to confront the victims.

“It’s four one on one, you guys throw the first punch, and someone is getting stabbed,” the suspect said to the victims while brandishing the knives.

At that time, one of the victims called 911 as the suspect returned back to his residence.

The suspect was placed under arrest for assault by means of a dangerous weapon (knife) and transported to Area D-4 headquarters for booking.

The officers searched the area for the knives to no avail.
