Investigate Person

12/28/10 – At about 10:52 a.m., office responded to a radio call for a disturbance at Filene’s Basement at 497 Boylston St. While en route, an update was given of one customer accusing another of stealing his phone on the second floor of the store.

Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, who stated he was shopping for his daughter when he placed his iPhone on top of a clothing rack. The victim soon discovered the phone and called the phone several times in an attempt to locate it to no avail.

When the victim asked another customer shopping in the area if he had seen the phone, the man said he hadn’t seen the phone and began acting nervously, the victim said.

The other shopper didn’t have the phone in his possession, and the victim was advised to report the lost phone to his service provider.

Disorderly Person

12/28/10 – At about 7:47 p.m., a police officer observed the suspect standing in front of the entrance of Tedeschi Market at 717 Boylston St., opening the door for patrons and soliciting money – all in clear view of a posted no trespassing/ no soliciting sign. The suspect had been repeatedly advised not panhandle and asked to leave the area.

When the officer asked the suspect to vacate the area, the suspect refused and began yelling profanities at the officer. The suspect’s outburst alarmed passersby, the officer said.

The suspect was arrested for trespassing, being a disorderly person and resisting arrest. Two other officers assisted in the handcuffing process when the suspect repeatedly refused to comply with requests to place his hands behind his back.
